Urban Counties Chairman Eddie Arnold created several special committees to study areas of interest to counties:
Roads & Transportation Committee (will review local option funding, overweight or damage causing vehicles, diversions, etc.); Indigent Health Care Committee (will review indigent health care funding, Medicaid 1115 waiver and other reforms); Courts & Jails Committee (will review criminal justice related cost drivers); Mental Health Committee (will review mental health care availability and funding, and its impact on jails); Water Committee (will review water policy issues and drought issues); and Growth in Unincorporated Areas Committee (will review the substantial growth in demand for services in unincorporated areas).
